Currently, Lang village has 76 households with more than 300 people. All of them are Thai ethnic people and their living standards are still low. Time flies and the cultural house has degraded.

Implementing the project on raising the quality and efficiency of the mass mobilization work of Military Region 4 in the 2023-2030 period and the following years and the “Thanh Hoa armed forces join hands to build new-style rural areas” movement, the Quan Son district Military Command built a plan on the building of a new military-civilian cultural and sports project in Lang village, at a total cost of VND 459 million, of which Military Region 4 donated VND 250 million and the local authority and people contributed VND 209 million).

After two months of construction, troops and staff of the Quan Son district Military Command and local people built a volleyball court and a badminton court, repaired and upgraded the cultural house, outdoor stages, fences, water closets, etc.

According to Luong Van Nhien, a village patriarch of Lang, during the construction, regardless of time and weather conditions, Quan Son district’s troops stood by local people and donated more than 800 working days to complete the project as planned.

Luong Thi Hanh, Secretary of the Quan Son district Party Committee, said that the project showed the sentiments and responsibilities of troops towards local people, and met the urgent needs of facilities and a place for cultural and sports activities for local people. The project attracted many local people, thereby raising the quality of their spiritual life, improving their health, and meeting the criteria of a model new-style rural area.
