Quang Van Hieng is a needy Thai ethnic person, honored with the First-class order in the resistance war against U.S. invaders by the State President. His family had faced housing difficulties for years.

Local authorities present gifts to the family of Mr. Quang Van Hieng.

After two months, the construction was completed as scheduled, on an area of nearly 100 square meters. The house has three bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen and one toilet.

It cost nearly VND 300 million, including VND 80 million from fallen soldier Nguyen Xuan Vong’s family from Nam Cao commune, Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province while the rest was from the family. In addition, the commune’s authorities mobilized staff, people and youths to contribute working days for the construction of the house.

On the occasion, local authorities also presented meaningful gifts to Mr. Quang Van Hieng family. For his part, he sent his sincere thanks to fallen soldier Nguyen Xuan Vong’s family and the support of local authorities and people.

“This is a meaningful activity, showing the national tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” and paying gratitude to national contributors and policy people,” said Chairman of the Pom Lot commune People’s Committee Le Ngoc Hoan. He also noted that the noble deed would encourage Mr. Quang Van Hieng’s family to overcome difficulties in daily life.

On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day, the Pom Lot commune People’s Committee will coordinate with the Division of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Dien Bien district to present State President’s, Dien Bien district’s and Pom Lot commune’s gifts to war veterans and Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin victims as well as fallen soldiers’ relatives.
