As reported, on the way back to the outdoor garrisoned site after helping households in Trong La village, Ho Bon commune, Mu Cang Chai district overcome consequences of the recent flooding, Private First Class Manh spotted a brown wallet among dirt and garbage on a roadside. He immediately reported to Captain Nguyen Duy Khanh, Political Commissar of Company 9. After a quick check, they found out that together with money, there were many important documents in the wallet such as a car driver’s license, a vehicle registration, an ID, a health insurance card, among others.

With active coordination from Ho Bon commune’s police, on the early afternoon of August 19, the wallet was returned to its owner Ly A Chu in Pu Nhu Hang Sung village, La Pan Tan commune, Mu Cang Chai district.

Mr. Chu is an excavator driver and is working with businesses in the area to overcome the consequences of natural disasters in Ho Bon commune. On the night of August 18, after returning home, he discovered that he had dropped his wallet, but he did not know where he had dropped it.

He was worried about redoing all his documents, while he is the breadwinner of the family. He was happy when receiving a call from Ho Bon commune’s police to take back the lost property.

“This morning, on the way to the designated site, I received a phone call from Ho Bon commune’s police informing me that the person who picked up my wallet was a soldier from Division 316, Military Region 2. I was really touched,” Chu said.

He added that over the past few days, “witnessing troops immersing themselves in the rain to help Mu Cang Chai people overcome the consequences of the flood, I, like other local people, were really impressed and grateful. Now, a soldier has returned the lost wallet to me, I am really more impressed.”

Talking about Private First Class Ha Xuan Manh, Major Nguyen Van Nhat, Political Commissar of Battalion 3 assessed that Manh is an active soldier, an exemplary and responsible young Party member, and always willing to help his comrades.

According to Major Nhat, while assisting flood-hit victims in Mu Cang Chai district, Manh was always enthusiastic, volunteered to do difficult tasks, and excellently completed the assigned task. “He is a bright example for his comrades to follow,” Major Nhat said.
