Foreign fishermen saved at sea
PANO – Troops of Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island in Truong Sa district islands, Khanh Hoa province successfully rescued two distressed fishermen at sea on November 9.
Earlier, at 17:00 on the same day, the troops found a fishing boat drifting in the northeast of the island with two crew-members on board signaling SOS.

The distressed fishermen are Filipino citizens. Reportedly, their boat had an engine failure and went adrift at sea.
Their health is being monitored by the troops and members of on-duty Fisheries Surveillance Ship KN 464. They are now recovering and will be soon brought to Southwest Cay Island.
During implementing the search and rescue mission, COVID-19 prevention and control work was also strictly ensured. The fishermen also had their samples taken for testing.
