Border troops rescue troubled foreign fishermen
PANO – Troops of Bai Gia Border Post of Soc Trang provincial Border Guard Command in association with staff of Maritime Administration of Can Tho have successfully rescued distressed barge LL2701 with three foreign fishermen on board.

The three troubled fishermen are Rahmat Syukur Siregar, Juli Yenki Siahaan, and Reifaldi Estendi Bisa, from Indonesia.
Earlier, the border post received a call from a fisherman who had discovered an object drifting five nautical miles from My Thanh estuary. The unit immediately formed a working team to cooperate with trawler ST 2539TS of Tran Van Khai from Mo O village, Trung Binh commune, Tran De district and rushed to the scene.
Reaching the scene, the team requested the Maritime Administration of Can Tho for help and at 13:30 on March 4, the barge was safely towed ashore. The Indonesian fishermen were provided with accommodation and health check-ups by troops of the Bai Gia Border Post.
Later the same day, they were handed over to the Maritime Administration of Can Tho.
