Distressed fishermen saved at sea
PANO – Ship 522 of Naval Squadron 413 of Naval Region 4 under the Vietnam People's Navy, on June 20 successfully saved 31 distressed fishermen and safely transported them to the Cam Ranh International Port.
Earlier, the trawler, registered as QNg 95438 TS and captained by Le Thanh Dieu in Binh Chanh commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province, was at the point of sinking while fishing about 1 nautical mile off An Bang island, Khanh Hoa province.

31 fishermen on board were rescued by three fishing boats of Quang Ngai province. The An Bang island’s authorities regularly kept in touch with the fishing boats to understand the distressed fishermen's situation.
The distressed fishermen on June 12 were brought to An Bang island. The authorities of the island provided health checkups, accommodation, clothes, and food to the distressed fishermen and crewmembers of the three boats of Quang Ngai province with a total cost of nearly VND 17 million.
Ship 522 of Naval Squadron 413 of Naval Region 4 on June 17 received 31 fishermen on An Bang Island and took them ashore. They were handed over to the local authorities and their families on June 20.
