At 9:30 a.m., Ship 2005 arrived at the reported location, broadcasted distress alerts, and called on nearby vessels to assist in the search.
At 11:30 a.m., in response to the call for assistance, the cargo vessel STARSHIP TAURUS, sailing under the Marshall Islands flag, actively joined the operation and successfully located 11 drifting fishermen about 10 nautical miles northwest of the original incident site. All 11 victims were safely rescued and brought aboard.
According to the survivors, the QN 80058 TS, a steel-hull fishing vessel, was captained by Nguyen Van Hung, 41, from Lien Vi Commune, Quang Yen Town, Quang Ninh Province. During its journey to purchase seafood at sea, the vessel’s hold was flooded by seawater and ultimately capsized due to rough waves.
