Having heard opinions from representatives of media and press outlets, Gen. Giang sent his congratulations to these outlets’ leadership and journalists on the festive day.

He expressed his deep gratitude to generations of revolutionary journalists, particularly soldier-journalists who have made contribution and sacrifices for national independence and for the cause of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
The defense chief affirmed that the press always stands by the armed forces. Just a few days after the establishment of the Vietnam Dissemination and Liberation Armed Team, the newspaper named “Tieng sung reo” (The Sound of Gunfire) was debuted on December 27, 1944, clearly demonstrating the special mission of the press in disseminating information and encouraging the fighting spirit of our troops.

Gen. Giang emphasized that the press is a “special corps” on the ideological-cultural front of the Party. He also made emphasis on the role of the press in popularizing, encouraging and reflecting all aspects of the military’s activities in national construction and defense from the past wartime to present peacetime.
He highlighted the press’s timely coverage of information to people and friends abroad about the revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modernized Vietnam People’s Army which firmly defends the country’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the people’s peaceful life.

As the country is entering a new stage of development, Gen. Giang expressed his hope that the Vietnam revolutionary press will continue to promote its glorious 100-year traditions, accompany the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire military to achieve strategic goals, contributing to building a country that develops rapidly and sustainably, and firmly defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
On this occasion, the CMC, MND awarded certificates of merit to 24 collectives and 33 individuals with outstanding accomplishments in disseminating information about military and defense tasks and military building in the 2020-2025 period.
