Defense Minister pays tribute to late Party, State, and military leaders
PANO - Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang offered incense in tribute to former leaders of the Party, State, and military on July 25, as part of the activities to mark the 76th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 – 2023).
The defense minister visited families and offered incense in tribute to late leaders Senior Lieutenant General Le Kha Phieu, Party General Secretary and Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP); General Le Duc Anh, State President and Defense Minister; General Chu Huy Man, Vice President of the State Council and Chief of the GDP; defense ministers Generals Vo Nguyen Giap, Van Tien Dung, Doan Khue, Phung Quang Thanh; chiefs of the General Staff and deputy defense ministers Generals Hoang Van Thai and Le Trong Tan.
While offering incense to late leaders of the Party, State, and military, Geneneral Giang expressed deep gratitude for their great contribution to the Party’s revolutionary cause and military building in different periods.
On the occasion, the defense minister visited and presented gifts to Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy, former Vice National Assembly Chairman, and happily briefed him on the military’s task accomplishment in the first six months of this year.
General Giang expected that General Thuy would continue to contribute valuable ideas to build a strong Vietnam People’s Army.
In the close atmosphere, General Giang inquired after the health of former Party, State, and military leaders’ relatives and hoped that they would uphold the tradition of their families, educate their children and grandchildren, and make contribution to the development of the country and the military.
