Border guards provide assistance to troubled oil tanker
PANO – Troops of the Binh Thuan provincial Border Guard Command are working with other relevant forces to help a troubled oil tanker at sea.
Previously, on June 29, border guards approached ship numbered BR-VT 98459TS carrying 71 tons of diesel in the waters of Phu Quy island of Binh Thuan. At that time, the captain was unable to present any documents related to the origin of diesel the ship was carrying.
On the night of July 1, on its way to the island, part of the ship hull sank by rough seas .
Immediately, the command assigned troops with equipment to rush to the scene and recover oil tanks while preventing from oil spills and explosion.
