Speaking at the event, Political Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Major General Tran Van Bung said that in 2023, border guard units collaborated with press agencies to have a total of more than 21,000 articles, vividly reflecting their troops’ implementation of movements and programs and popularizing effective models and honoring outstanding individuals in carrying out training and combat readiness missions, crime prevention, mass mobilization, and border defense diplomacy.

Articles have vividly portrayed the image of border guard troops, who are exemplary, courageous, ingenious, united, and closely attached to people in carrying out their tasks, contributing to building a strong whole-people border defense posture; managing and firmly protecting border sovereignty and security; building border areas of peace, friendship, and cooperation for development with countries sharing border with Vietnam.

In 2024, the Vietnam Border Guard Command will continue to coordinate with press agencies to promote dissemination of the management and protection of territorial sovereignty and border security, with a focus on disseminating activities in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the foundation day of the border guard force (March 3, 1959 - 2024). In particular, the Border Vietnam Guard Command will receive the Second-class Feat-of-arm Order; hold the "Village's fulcrum" program; honor outstanding faces in the service, and launch different movements.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and exchanged measures to promote information dissemination in the coming time. In particular, border guard agencies and units will focus on building specific programs and plans; popularize good examples; closely coordinate with departments, sectors, and press agencies; closely grasp the life of the soldiers and people; promote the application of information technology.

Speaking at the meeting, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Anh Tuan affirmed that with their pro-active and effective coordination in editing and building breakthrough columns, press agencies have greatly contributed to strengthening and creating unity of thoughts and actions in the whole service; fostering solidarity between troops and people; maintaining political stability, security, and safety in border areas.
