Leaders of My Ly Border Post and People’s Committee of My Ly commune present bamboo seedlings to households. |
The model is being implemented on vacant lands belonging to households whose homes were swept away by floods in late July 2025 in five villages, namely Xieng Tam, Yen Hoa, Xang Tren, Xop Tu, and Hoa Ly in My Ly commune.
At the launch event, border guard officers and soldiers guided 158 households on techniques for planting, caring for, managing, and protecting bamboo. They also encouraged local residents to regularly clean their surroundings to create a green, clean, and beautiful environment.
On this occasion, My Ly Border Post and benefactors provided locals with 2,000 bamboo seedlings worth VND 60 million as initial support.
Addressing the event, Chairman of the My Ly Commune People’s Committee Luong Van Bay said that this model not only helps preserve the land but also opens up a new, locally appropriate direction for economic development.
The model aims to effectively promote the initiative of assigning Party members to assist households, while helping residents develop sustainable livelihoods through bamboo cultivation for shoots and bamboo-based products. It also contributes to environmental protection, landslide prevention, and natural disaster response in border areas.
