According to the official results from the board of umpires, the Vietnamese team completed the race in two hours ten minutes one second, shooting down 20 out of 24 targets. The Chinese team hit 16 out of 24 targets within one hour 51 minutes 57 seconds, while teams from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan destroyed 16 out of 24 targets within one hour 54 minutes 53 seconds and one hour 57 minutes 39 seconds, respectively.
After two final competitions, the Russian, Belarusian, Chinese, and Uzbekistani teams successfully advanced to the final round.

Although the tank contingent of the Vietnam People’s Army could not make it to the final, the team had an impressive performance at the semi-final as it destroyed the second largest number of targets among the eight teams, after Russia.
In the semi-finals, eight outstanding teams were divided into two groups. The first group consisted of teams from Russia, Belarus, Mongolia, and Uzbekista, while the second one comprised of teams from China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Vietnam. The semi-final competitions in Group 1 took place on August 23.
Before the competition, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi and Senior Colonel Ta Quang Thao, Deputy Director of the Department of Military Training under the General Staff and Head of the delegation of the Vietnam People’s Army to the Army Games 2022, met and encouraged the Vietnamese tank team.
