General Phan Van Giang chairs a conference to review defense diplomacy activities in October 2026.

The conference focused on preparations for key activities, including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense accompanying General Secretary and State President To Lam on a state visit to Denmark and official visits to the European Union (E.U.) and Belgium, as well as attending the 20th ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and the 13th ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM+) in the Philippines.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized that defense diplomacy is a key pillar of the Party’s external relations, state diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy. He called on relevant agencies and units to make every effort to ensure the successful implementation of the planned activities, strengthen bilateral defense cooperation, build trust, and maintain friendly relations between Viet Nam and its partners. He also urged pro-active and responsible participation in multilateral military and defense cooperation within ASEAN and ASEAN-led frameworks to enhance Viet Nam’s and the Viet Nam People’s Army’s standing and role on the international arena.
