The General Staff also requested agencies and units, especially those located in the path of the storm, to prepare forces, vehicles, and equipment to deal with arising circumstances in a timely manner.

Under the dispatch, the Vietnam Border Guard Command directs the border guard commands of coastal provinces and cities likely to be affected by the storm, to work with local authorities to keep in touch with owners of vehicles operating at sea. In addition, the provincial and municipal border troops should follow the developments of the storm closely and guide vehicles to get out of the storm’s path and take shelter safely.

Together with having measures to ensure safety of personnel and vehicles operating at sea, the Vietnam People’s Navy and the Vietnam Coast Guard Command were required to prepare forces and vehicles for search and rescue missions as requested. The Air Defense – Air Force Service and Army Corps 18 should keep their personnel and vehicles on standby for search and rescue missions at sea and on land. 

In the dispatch, the General Staff requested military regions 3, 4, 5, 7 to direct their affiliates to cooperate with local units to update the new developments of the storm so as to make recommendation to local authorities to respond to the storm in a timely and effective manner.

Furthermore, these military regions should be prepared to evacuate local people to safer places, carry out search and rescue, and overcome possible consequences of the storm. During task implementation, COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control regulations should be strictly observed.

The document also reads that agencies and units should accelerate inspection to ensure forces’ effective response to and mitigation of the consequences of the storm and provide logistical and technical assistance for natural disaster response forces.
