The construction was adapted from the prototype of the work “Listening to the words of the country” (Nghe loi non nuoc) by author Vu Trong Khoi, showing the image of Uncle Ho thoughtfully talking with a border guard soldier.

The monument is made entirely of natural rock, with a height of 1.79m, a width of 1.15m, and a weight of about 3.5 tons. Its pillar is cast in reinforced concrete, covered with black granite and engraved with Uncle Ho’s words for officers and soldiers at the first emulation soldiers’ Congress of the People’s Armed Police (now the Vietnam Border Guard) held in Hanoi on March 2, 1962. The total height of both the monument and its pedestal is 3.36m. It is surrounded by flowers, plants and the lighting system.

The construction was conducted from February 6 to 28 in celebration of the 63rd foundation day of the Vietnam Border Guard Force, the 33rd Whole People’s Border Guard Day, and the 18th founding anniversary of Dak Ken Border Post.

After being unveiled, the facility will be a place where troops come to report to Uncle Ho their task performance of managing and protecting sovereignty, national border security, and building strong and comprehensive border areas.
