PANO - Senior lieutenant-general Phung Quang Thanh, Politburo member and Minister of Defence, has sent a congratulatory letter to the department for narcotics prevention of the Border Guard High Command as well as border guard soldiers in Quang Ninh and Ha Tinh provinces.

In the recent past, border guard units have thwarted many attempts to traffic drugs in the border area.

On behalf of the Central Military Party Committee, the Defence Minister applauded the achievements made by the border guard forces. He asked Border Guard High Command leaders at all levels to focus on political and ideological education and force building. Moreover, border guard soldiers should cooperate with other armed forces to timely prevent crimes in the border area, fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Party, State and Defence Ministry.
