PANO – On the first days of the Lunar New Year 2016, hundreds of cadres and soldiers were mobilized to extinguish many blazes across the country.

Especially, at 14:30 on February 15th, 100 naval soldiers from Battalion 565 of the Naval Region 5 Command teamed up with other forces to successfully stamp out a forest fire in An Thoi town, Phu Quoc Island district, Kien Giang province. Although the blaze broke out in mountainous terrains, the troops displayed their strong sense of responsibility by braving the dangers and difficulties and controlling the blaze after two hours fighting.

At 6:00 on February 11th, the Hanoi Capital High Command sent nearly 50 soldiers and militiamen to fight a fierce blaze at five kiosks in Yen Hoa ward, Cau Giay district. It took them an hour to get the fire under control.

Meanwhile, at midday of February 12th, about 100 troops from the Hung Yen provincial Military Command, in association with the firefighters, extinguished a fire at a shop in Loi Cau hamlet, Viet Hoa commune, Khoai Chau district.

Earlier, on February 7th, over 50 soldiers from the Navy and the Vietnam Coast Guard controlled forest fires in Ha Phong ward (Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province) and Do Son district (Hai Phong city).
