At the meeting, Gen. Don hailed the command’s affiliated units’ task performance last year and their implementation of missions before Tet.
He urged their Party Committees and chains-of-commands to promote political and ideological education for troops, enhance training quality, make proposals to local Party Committee and authorities to achieve military-defense and border tasks.
Regarding missions during Tet, General Don asked units to strictly observe combat readiness regulations, keep close watch on situational developments in stationed areas, heighten revolutionary vigilance, work with local Party Committee and authorities to address arising issues in time and maintain local order and security.
Units were also requested to organize a happy Tet for troops and further the care for local needy people while ensuring traffic safety and making preparations for upcoming Party Congresses at all levels.
