1. In the year, military youth actively made recommendations to the Central Military Commission and the General Department of Political Affairs to issue directives and guidance. They also contributed to the signing of the coordination program between the General Department of Political Affairs and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee on promoting the vanguard role of young people in building and protecting the nation in the 2020-2025 period and the years to come.

2. Various activities in celebration of the 91st anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 13th National Party Congress, and election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and people’s councils at all levels in the 2021-2026 tenure were actively held by youth union organizations in the whole military.
In the year, the whole military held thousands of meetings and seminars on the 13th National Party Congress’ resolution and the building of a rule-of-law socialist state, completed more than 6,000 youth projects, launched an emulation movement to welcome the national election, and cooperated with local youth to respond to the election day.
Youth union organizations of military units also carried out the “Spring in border areas, lunar New Year on islands” program at 350 places across the country.

3. A ceremony to mark the 90th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union was held by the General Department of Political Affairs. At the event, 90 outstanding cadres of youth union organizations in the 2016-2020 period, ten outstanding young soldiers in 2020, and 18 promising young soldiers in the whole military in 2020 were honored.

4. The 21st Creative Youth Award was held. The organizing panel received 25,069 initiatives and projects, of which 577 projects came from 39 units under the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense. The Defense Minister presented certificates of merit to 16 outstanding collectives, while the Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs granted certificates to 311 projects.

5. Youth Union organizations held various activities to mark the 74th anniversary of Vietnamese Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day. In particular, they organized meetings, seminars, forums, talks with historical witnesses, and activities to pay tribute to fallen soldiers and support wounded and sick soldiers and martyrs’ families.

6. Last year, military youth actively participated in the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control work. In the year, more than 40,000 troops worked at posts in border areas and in pandemic-stricken localities, took care of infected cases, and transported vaccines, medical equipment, and food.
Military youth mobilized resources, medical equipment, and food to assist local people and forces in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. They also texted to donate to the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control fund.
The Military Youth Advisory Board alone worked with agencies, units, and businesses inside and outside the military to presented gifts, worth VND 10 billion, to pandemic-affected people. In addition, youths in the whole military donated more than 45,000 units of blood to serve patient treatment in hospitals.

7. Military and public security youth union organizations reviewed their coordination program in the 2016-2020 period and signed their coordination program in the 2022-2026 period on promoting studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, lifestyle.

8. Various contests, including a contest for outstanding youth cadres, a festival of English Clubs, a writing contest on legal documents, and a contest on discipline and traffic culture, were held in 2021.

9. Military youth participated and won various national-level contests. In particular, military youth bagged a first prize at the fourth national Olympics on Marxism-Leninism; a second prize at the online contest on the 13th National Party Congress’ Resolution; a first group, two second individual, and a third individual prizes at a contest on traffic culture, a first prize at a contest on climate; a second, a third, and two consolation prizes at the Olympics on English; a first group and a second group prizes at a contest on General Vo Nguyen Giap.

10. A series of activities was held to mark the 70th traditional day of military youth and the Military Youth Advisory Board. The activities included a ground-breaking ceremony for the upgrade of the Hall of Fame and the Historical Relic Site where the national salvation youth union organization was established; the launch of emulation movements; a music composition contest on military youth.

In the coming time, military youth will continue carrying out practical activities in celebration of the 70th foundation day of military youth and the Military Youth Advisory Board.
