According to a report by the Ministry of National Defense, Kpa Thiep was born on March 7, 2006, in Chu Se commune, Gia Lai province. He enlisted in the military in February 2025. After completing basic training for recruits, he was assigned to Squad 3, Guard Platoon, the Staff of Regiment 28, Division 10, Army Corps 34.
Despite the demanding nature of his duties, he consistently demonstrated perseverance, dedication, responsibility, humility, and a strong willingness to learn. He fostered close solidarity with comrades and was highly regarded by both his commanders and comrades for successfully accomplishing all assigned tasks.
On July 19, 2026, he was granted his annual leave entitlement for 2026. During his leave, he strictly complied with the State laws, military discipline, unit regulations, and local customs while actively helping his family with farming and agricultural production.
At around 12:00 on July 20, 2026, in Tai Per village, Ia Ko commune, Gia Lai province, Kpa Thiep discovered two people in life-threatening danger following an electrical accident. With his courage and disregarding his own safety, he rushed to their rescue and successfully saved Rmah Viet, born in 1999, and Rah Lan HNom, born in 1996. Both victims have since recovered.
However, during the rescue, Kpa Thiep was tragically electrocuted and lost consciousness. Although local residents and emergency responders rushed him to hospital, he succumbed to his injuries at 13:00 the same day.

His selfless act stood as a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism and of the unwavering spirit of sacrificing oneself to protect the lives of others. His bravery further enriched the proud traditions of the Vietnam People's Army and highlighted the exemplary qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era.
The passing of Staff Sergeant Kpa Thiep was a profound loss to his family and his unit. Nevertheless, his courage, sense of responsibility, and noble sacrifice left behind an enduring example for today and future generations of service members to learn from.
