The event draws the participation of 13 teams with 286 athletes from military regions, army corps, the Artillery Corps and the Hanoi Capital Command.

The athletes compete in two phases of day and night, with the contents of maneuvering along the course of 5km; firing of Co100mm mortar, SPG-9 gun, RPG-7 anti-tank launcher, and AK submachine gun; and overcoming six obstacles. This is the first time the sports festival has been held in the whole military to select outstanding individuals to take part in the International Army Games.

The program aims to raise training quality as well as coordination among forces. In addition, it helps also evaluate commanding competence of artillery officers as well as troops’ capability to master equipment while providing the participants with an opportunity to share experience and learn from each other.

After the opening ceremony, the teams entered the daytime competitions. The People’s Army Newspaper would like to present some images during the event.
