At the meeting, delegates recalled the establishment, development, and glorious traditions of the brigade over the past 55 years.
In particular, more than five decades ago, to meet the revolution’s requirements, Artillery Regiment 40 (present Artillery Brigade 40) was formed in Dak Blo commune, Dak Glei district, Kon Tum province. The establishment of the brigade marked a new development of regular force in Central Highlands.
During the resistance war against American imperialists, the Southwestern border defense, Northern border defense, and international service in Cambodia, the unit’s troops always heightened determination, indomitable spirit, creativeness, unity, self-reliance to fulfill their missions. They participated in hundreds of battles in Dak To, Dak Sieng, Ngoc To Ba, Ngoc Rinh Rua, and Non nuoc, among others.
With its outstanding achievements in combat, Artillery Brigade 40 and its one battalion, four companies, and two officers were honored with the title of the Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and other noble orders.

Over the past 55 years, Artillery Brigade 40 has exerted utmost effort to build a comprehensively strong and exemplary unit. Recently, the brigade has strictly observed combat readiness while effectively preventing the COVID-19 pandemic.
