At the ceremony

This was part of the practical activities to mark the 34th anniversary of the whole people Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 – 2023), the 64th anniversary of the foundation day of the border guard force (March 3, 1959 – 2023), and Youth Month 2023.

As many as 100 delegates, representing leaders of the locality, members of sell-management teams (formed under the Prime Minister’s directive on organizing the movement on mobilizing the whole community to participate in protecting national sovereignty and security in border areas in the new period), staff and teachers of local schools, local residents, and youth union members of Axan and Tr'hy communes saluted the border marker and sang the national anthem.

After the flag-saluting ceremony, delegates were briefed on the history of border marker 690 and the management of system of border markers and Quang Nam – Sekong border section.

According to Major Nguyen Van Loi, Political Commissar of Axan Border Post, the activity aimed to raise youths’ pride for heroic tradition of the heroic nation; enhance the awareness, responsibility, and political determination of local Party Committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, forces, and people to build, manage, and protect national sovereignty; strengthen the effectiveness the whole people’s border guard day and the “whole people join hands to protect sovereignty and security in border areas in the new situation” movement.

Clearing bushes along the borderline

In realizing the Prime Minister’s directive on organizing the movement on mobilizing the whole community to participate in protecting national sovereignty and security in border areas in the new period, Axan Border Post and local Party Committee and authorities have closely collaborated to form 12 self-management teams with more than 180 members, organize activities to clear bushes along the borderline, and patrol to protect the borderline and border markers.
