Border guards intensifying patrol to safeguard the border and prevent COVID-19 |
Together with the post-run seven fixed checkpoints, its mobile patrol teams have intensified patrols to monitor and protect the border and at the same time prevent COVID-19 from spreading via the border.
In the last days of 2021, the Border Post of Nam Can International Border Gate handled 33 illegal cross-border immigration cases. Fifty eight Vietnamese citizens were trying to enter Vietnam from Laos via the border gate, trails, open paths due to complicated developments of COVID-19 in the host country. They were quarantined according to COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
In fact, as the lunar New Year is drawing near, the number of illegal entries of Vietnamese guest workers from Laos is on the rise. Therefore, the border post has planned to boost patrols to monitor open trails and paths around the clock to prevent illegal immigration in the time ahead.
