Second English Olympiad for cadets concludes
PANO – The General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army held a ceremony on November 29 to conclude the second English Olympiad for cadets from military schools. Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, attended the closing ceremony.

According to the organizers’ reports, 19 participating teams from military schools and academies fulfilled competition categories, while strictly exercising regulations. Participants demonstrated their good English skills.
As a result, the team from the Academy of Military Technology won the first prize, while Army Officer Training School 2 and the Military Medical Academy bagged second prizes. The third prizes went to teams from the Border Guard Academy, the Military Science Academy, and the Academy of Logistics.
The organizing panel also presented five first, ten second, 15 third, and 20 consolation prizes to outstanding individuals.
Held for the first time in 2017, the English Olympiad aims to evaluate the quality of English teaching and learning at military schools and academies as well as to create an opportunity for cadets to meet and share their English learning methods.
