Raising recruits' love for national sea and islands
PANO - On March 19, in Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province, Naval Region 5 organized a conference to provide information related to the national sea and islands for recruits of Battalion 563.
During the conference, the recruits received basic information from orators of Naval Region 5 regarding the position, role, and significance of Vietnam's sea and islands in the nation-building and defense efforts; the current situation in our country's maritime areas; the role of the Vietnam People's Navy in managing and protecting maritime sovereignty; and the responsibilities of naval officers and soldiers in carrying out assigned tasks.

An attendee of the event, Seaman recruit Nguyen Ngoc Tinh from Platoon 1, Company 25, Battalion 563, shared, "Before joining the military, I already knew some information related to our sea and islands through the media. However, those pieces of information were not as diverse and comprehensive as the content conveyed by the orators during today's conference."
Seaman recruit Duong Ngoc Hai from Platoon 4, Company 26, Battalion 563, said, "The information provided by the orators was not only diverse but also easy to understand, helping us quickly take in the content, enhance our awareness, and apply it to our task implementation."

Senior Captain Nguyen Duc Cau, Deputy Political Chief of Naval Region 5, stated, "The conference on the sea and island situation was a practical activity, aiming to strengthen trust, raise awareness and responsibility, and cultivate love for the sea and islands among new recruits. It provoked national pride, encouraged and motivated the naval troops to overcome difficulties, carry out tasks well and contribute to the firm protection of the sacred national sovereignty over sea and islands."
