While touring the training ground of Regiment 244, we, collaborators of the People’s Army, saw recruits calmly and confidently performing movements and training contents. New military uniforms are always soaked with sweat because of hours of training in hard weather conditions. It was the severe weather that has ignited their enthusiasm and motivation to obtain good training results.

Pham Dinh Trung of Company 1 of the Recruit Training Battalion is one of the recruits who have university, college and technical school degrees. After graduating from Thang Long University, he started working in a company with stable income before writing petition to voluntarily join the military.
Trung said that over the last fortnight, he and other recruits have encountered numerous difficulties and hardships. However, thanks to the care and timely support of commanding officers and comrades, they have promptly gotten used to military environment and been determined to obtain high training results.

Nguyen Tien Anh of Company 3 of the Recruit Training Battalion is another university degree holder, but he voluntarily joined the military. He recalled that on the first days in the military environment he felt quite tired because of the strict routine. After days of training, recruits’ fitness levels have been improved, and they are now ready to go through contents in the training program.
Political Commissar of Regiment 244 Colonel Pham Van Nam said that considering training recruits a key mission in the year, the unit has thoroughly made preparation of accommodation and green-clean-beautiful barracks to help them soon get used to the military environment.

On the first days of the training season, the unit has strictly maintained regulations and conducted training as scheduled. Especially, the regiment has paid attention to grasping recruits’ thoughts, thus encouraging them fulfill assigned missions. The unit’s Youth Union Organization has actively organized cultural and sports exchanges for newly-enlisted youths to better get to know each other and grasp the unit’s regulations and military discipline.
It is clear that the regiment’s thorough preparation in all aspects have helped recruits be more confident in studying and training to obtain high results right on the first days, weeks, and months in the military environment.
