Officers and cadets to study overseas undertake missions
PANO - The General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army organized a ceremony at Unit 871 on August 28 to assign missions to 280 officers and cadets who will study overseas this year.
The Vietnam People’s Army has annually sent more than 600 officers and cadets to study in foreign countries. Last year alone, over 800 officers and cadets studied overseas.
Since the beginning of this year, the military has sent 370 officers and cadets to study in foreign countries. In this drive, among 280 officers and cadets to study overseas, five are commanders and deputy commanders of brigades and regiments.
Attentively, in the 2017-2018 academic year, over 70 percent of more than 150 Vietnamese officers and cadets studying overseas graduated with flying colors.
In his speech, Major General Le Duc Manh, Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel under the GDP, asked the officers and cadets to uphold firm political and ideological stance, and be absolutely loyal to the Party’s revolutionary cause while observing seriously the regulations of defense external relations, laws of Vietnam and the host countries and the training establishments’ rules.
They were also requested to support each other during their stay in foreign countries, boost solidarity and friendship with international peers, heighten self-awareness, self-reliance and spend time doing research and acquiring for more knowledge of military science and technology as well as update the management agencies on their academic records, advantages and disadvantages, emerging issues during their study to work out timely solutions.
At the ceremony, all officers and cadets to study overseas said that they are determined to be active in their studies, promptly acquire the host countries’ knowledge of military science and military strategy to apply them in their future jobs effectively.
