At the event, the Naval Service’s Deputy Chief Rear Admiral Nguyen Dinh Hung reported on the outcomes of the service’s task performance. He emphasized that the awareness of the work has been raised across the service. It has built three circulars on national standards in the field of defense, and oriented three in-depth research groups in three key areas, namely automated guided control systems, hydroacoustic technology, and special-purpose materials.

In addition, the Navy’s military data transmission network infrastructure has been extended to the Service’s headquarters and to all of its second-level subordinate agencies and units, ensuring effective utilization of software and professional databases.
Addressing the event, head delegate, Deputy Defense Minister and Permanent Deputy Head of the Steering Committee 3488 Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh commended the Naval Service’s efforts and achievements in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation in recent times.
He requested it to focus on researching and upgrading existing weapons to meet new operational requirements, while studying, designing, and developing new weapons. At the same time, the Navy needs to establish specialized research groups reaching national and regional levels in strategic technology fields to serve research, design, and production of weapons and equipment.

The defense leader asked the Naval Service to define specific, practical products for research or commission research centers and defense industry enterprises to design, and manufacture them. Moreover, the Service must pro-actively approach, study, and apply new technologies, while paying due attention to training, attracting, and employing high-quality human resources.
