Accordingly, the command sent 160 troops, 17 vehicles, including 4 motorboats of Brigades 101 and 957, and two military medical teams led by Lieutenant Colonel Do Minh, the command’s Deputy Chief of Staff, to the flood-hit areas.

At 7:00am of the day, the rescue teams arrived in Cam Thanh commune of Cam Ranh City and Cam Thanh Bac commune of Cam Lam district for the rescue. By 4:00pm the same day, the rescuers evacuated nearly 50 people and their property in flood-affected areas to safe places. The military medical teams provided health check-ups for victims, and transported injured people to health centers for further treatment.

Currently, troops of Brigade 101 are reinforcing 20 meters of broken dyke in Tan Lap hamlet, Cam Thanh Bac commune and are ready to deal with the situation in the communes of Cam Thinh Tay and Cam Thinh Dong (Cam Ranh City).

The command also donated 100 boxes of instant noodles, a number of necessities, and medicines to local victims.

* 30 tons of dry food transported to flood-hit victims in the Central Region: Joint-Stock Company 22 under the General Department of Logistics, on December 16 evening, mobilized its workers to load and then transport 30 tons of dry food to Noi Bai International Airport in order to promptly assist flood-hit victims in provinces of Military Region 5.
