Naval Region 2 Command completes pre-Tet visit to those on duty at sea
PANO - The Naval Region 2 Command held a ceremony on January 23 at Wharf of Flotilla 129 to welcome the second delegation’s members who have completed a pre-Tet visit to DK1 platforms, on-duty ships, local authorities, and armed force units.
From January 9 to 23, the Naval Region 2 Command sent two delegations to visit and extend New Year greetings to troops on DK1 platforms, crew-members of ships on duty at sea, and troops and people in Con Dao district, and Radar Station 590 of Regiment 251.
During the trip, the two delegations handed over Tet gifts from the Ministry of National Defense, Naval Service, Naval Region 2, authorities, businesses, and people in the mainland to troops performing tasks at sea, on islands, and the Southern continental shelf. The gifts presentation aimed to encourage troops of DK1 platforms to firmly protect sovereignty over sea, islands, and continental shelf.
At the ceremony, Naval Region 2 Command’s Deputy Political Commissar Senior Captain Tran Hong Hai congratulated the delegation on the successful trip and praised delegates’ efforts to overcome difficulties to complete the task.
He asked reporters to continue to disseminate the missions and life of troops on platforms, on-duty ships, and forces performing tasks at sea.
On the occasion, the Naval Region 2 Command presented certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals.
