Naval Region 2’s delegations extend New Year greetings to troops on DK1 platforms
PANO - The Naval Region 2 Command sent two ships to take two delegations to inspect the observance of combat readiness regulations and extend New Year greetings to troops on DK1 platforms, on-duty ships, Radar Station 590 and local authorities of Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, on January 9.
The delegation, led by Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 2 Senior Captain Tran Hong Hai, include representatives from staff, political, logistic-technical agencies of the naval region and 81 reporters from both central and local press agencies.
At the see-off ceremony for the two delegations, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 2 Senior Captain Pham Quyet Tien said that the visit demonstrates the care of the Party, State, military, service, and Naval Region 2 and sentiment of the mainland people to forces and troops working at sea and on islands, thus encouraging them to overcome difficulties to successfully complete assigned missions to firmly safeguard national sovereignty over sea, islands, and continental shelf.
Apart from inspecting units’ observance of combat readiness regulations, the delegations will visit and hand over New Year gifts from the Ministry of National Defense, Naval Service, Naval Region 2, local authorities, businesses, and people to troops who are performing tasks on the Southern continental shelf of the country.
