Accordingly, the exercise includes four stages, namely shifting combat readiness posture to a higher level, making preparations for the combat, combating, and live-fire content (under the theme “Infantry battalion attacks seaborne enemy”).

An overview of the event

Speaking at the event, Maj. Gen. Hua Van Tuong underlined the significance of the exercise, saying that it aims to evaluate the training quality and combat readiness competence of the unit. It also enhances the command and staff capability of commanding officers in shifting combat readiness postures; coordination between infantry division and forces in the provincial defensive area.

Based on lessons drawn from the exercise, MR5 will supplement combat and training plans so as to improve training and combat readiness capability of its affiliates.

Assigning missions before the exercise

The MR5 second-in-command officer required participating agencies and units to make thorough preparations; conduct exercise’s contents closely to the tasks of the unit and combat terrain; focus on the actions of the commanding officers; ensure safety for personnel and equipment; and strictly observe the exercise’s regulations.
