General Nguyen Tan Cuong pays gratitude to late, former Party, State, military leaders
PANO - On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2025), a delegation of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense led by Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyen Tan Cuong paid gratitude to late and former Party, State, military leaders on July 22.
Offering incense in tribute to late senior leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, in a solemn atmosphere, General Nguyen Tan Cuong and the delegation expressed deep gratitude to the former leaders their great contribution to the revolutionary cause of the Party and country, and the development of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Gen. Cuong also inquired after health conditions of the families of the former leaders and hoped that they would continue to uphold their family traditions and make contribution to the building of the Party, the development of the country, and the growth of the military.

On the same day, the GS chief visited former Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich; former GS chief and Deputy Defense Minister General Do Ba Ty; and Lieutenant General, People's Armed Forces Hero Dang Quan Thuy, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

On the occasion, Gen. Cuong informed them about the outstanding achievements in the task implementation of the whole military during the first six months of this year, key tasks directed and carried out by the CMC and MND, and major activities in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
