MND’s leaders encourage soldiers to be discharged in 2026

In 2026, hundreds of soldiers of Brigade 144 will complete their service and return to their localities. Throughout their time at the brigade, all personnel demonstrated good moral qualities, strong discipline, unity, and a high sense of responsibility. As a result of their efforts, 54 soldiers were admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam, while 146 received commendations and rewards.

Minister Phan Van Giang praised Brigade 144 for their silent yet vital contributions. He noted that by upholding the Uncle Ho’s soldiers’ tradition, the unit maintained strict combat readiness and ensured absolute security for major national events and high-level conferences in a disciplined, professional manner.

The Minister noted that Brigade 144 soldiers ensured absolute safety for MND headquarters and assigned targets through effective patrolling. By strictly enforcing entry regulations and maintaining exemplary military etiquette, the unit projected a disciplined and professional image. Minister Phan Van Giang urged discharged soldiers to uphold the Uncle Ho’s soldiers’ virtues by becoming exemplary citizens and skilled professionals. He encouraged them to lead by example in following Party and State policies, fostering community unity, and actively contributing to local socio-economic development.

On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, the Defense Minister extended his best wishes to the soldiers and their families, expressing his hope that they would enjoy joyful reunions and celebrate the holiday in safety and happiness.

Representing 2026 discharged soldiers, Sergeant Hoang Van Huy of Brigade 144 expressed pride in meeting MND leaders before completing his service. Guarding the National Defense Ministry's headquarters, he noted that every soldier’s action reflects military credibility and national honor. Before being discharged, the troops remain committed to protecting the 14th National Party Congress. Upon returning to civilian life, they pledge to uphold the legacy of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and Brigade 144’s tradition of “As hard as steel, as steadfast as bronze, as pure as a mirror.”
