MND’s leader inspects COVID-19 prevention and control work in Long An province
PANO – On September 4, a delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Deputy Defense Minister and Head of the Special Working Mission of the Government on COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern provinces, visited and inspected the COVID-19 prevention and control work in Long An province.
Touring Field Hospitals for Infectious Diseases No.9 and No.1, and the provincial COVID-19 Emergency Resuscitation Hospital, the deputy defense minister shared difficulties with the medical staff and encouraged them to have a high sense of responsibility in treating COVID-19 patients.

General Luong praised the province's COVID-19 prevention and control efforts at a meeting with Long An leaders, asking them to look after COVID-19 patients who have no symptoms. Meanwhile, the province should provide medical supplies to the medical staff and popularize vaccination information to the local people, to name just a few.

According to Nguyen Van Duoc, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the province have adopted rapid COVID-19 testing throughout the locality to quickly find infected cases and prevent the pandemic from spreading. In addition, it has also cared for pandemic-hit people and workers who had lost their jobs due to the pandemic. More importantly, vaccination has been accelerated in order to quickly contain the disease and bring life back to normal.
On this occasion, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, presented VND 500 million to Long An province to buy COVID-19 medicine and five tons of dry rations to support needy locals.
