MND’s delegation works with Lao Cai province

During the working session, representatives of the units reported on their military and defense activities, border management efforts in the first half of the year, and progress in restructuring local military organizations in line with the new administrative model. They also presented plans for merging the Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Command into the Border Guard Command under the Lao Cai Provincial Military Command.

Concluding the session, Lt. Gen. Do Xuan Tung commended the three units for fulfilling their core political tasks in the first six months of the year. He also urged them to maintain close coordination and expedite the merger process, ensuring full compliance with regulations to meet established goals and requirements.

He emphasized the need for stronger communication of the merger policy among officers and soldiers to foster confidence and readiness for all assigned duties.

The units were also instructed to proactively review and assess their personnel; give greater attention to the implementation of policies for officers seeking early retirement; and continue to strictly follow the directives and guidance from higher authorities regarding the organization of Party congresses at all levels.
