MND’s delegation inspects border gate and foreign affairs work in Quang Ninh

According to the Commanding Officer of the Quang Ninh provincial Border Guard Command Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Thiem, the national security, social order, and safety in the border areas, border gates, and seaports have been stably maintained. The people in the border regions feel secure in their production. The foreign relations have been well carried out.

The provincial border guard command has strictly implemented the guidelines on administrative reform and digital transformation. Apart from implementing electronic border procedures, the force has invested in modern equipment to support immigration control, thus enhancing the quality of administrative reform; installed 18 automatic entry and exit control gates at Mong Cai International Border Gate and Hoanh Mo Border Gate, along with a surveillance camera system.

The border protection units have effectively implemented cooperation mechanisms through various forms and achieved high results. The twinning activities have been well carried out with 12 pairs of border posts and stations set up their twinning relations. Thanks to the border guard units’ advice, ten clusters of villages along the shared borderline have also signed twinning agreements.

After inspecting the activities at Mong Cai International Border Gate, General Chien lauded the efforts and achievements obtained by the Quang Ninh provincial Border Guard and relevant agencies in conducting border gate and foreign affairs work. He requested the province’s border guard force and functional agencies to make the most of technological advantages, especially artificial intelligence, to further enhance the quality of border gate operations.

The defense leader urged the force to promote administrative reform and digital transformation at border gates, striving to blaze a trail in developing smart and digital border gates.

General Chien urged the provincial border guard command to strengthen international integration, border defense diplomacy, and people-to-people exchanges. He instructed the MND's relevant agencies to assist the force in developing and upgrading facilities at border gates and studying the possibility of building a specialized transport route at Mong Cai International Border Gate and establishing a logistics center at Mong Cai International Border Gate.
