In particular, units in the whole military maintained high combat readiness postures and regularly organized training courses to increasingly enhance political and ideological education for troops. Also, the MND received valuable ideas from retired generals, who are former senior defense leaders, on performing military-defense tasks in the current context.

Addressing the event, General Lich acknowledged and praised the outstanding achievements recorded by the MND’s affiliated units over the past month, especially their efforts in overcoming hardships to fulfill assigned tasks.

The Defense Minister, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the MND, urged the Party committees and leaderships of units at all levels to actively fulfill the set plans, manage unexpected situations, improve regularity and observance of military disciplines in their units, and make concrete plans for building defensive areas in the stationed areas, to name but a few.

General Lich assigned the MND’s affiliated agencies to organizing working groups to monitor task performance of the whole-military units. He noted that the units’ leaderships should pay more attention to troops’ spiritual and physical lives and accelerate information dissemination to fight the “peaceful evolution” plot of hostile forces in the coming time.
