MND meets with fallen soldiers’ relatives
PANO - The Ministry of National Defense (MND) met with a delegation of fallen soldiers’ relatives who are living in Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province.
Chairing the meeting on June 16 in Hanoi was Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Yem, Deputy Director of the Department of Policy under the General Department of Politics.
Dai Loc district was a key revolutionary base in the west of Quang Nam-Da Nang. The district contributed both human and properties to the success of the resistance war for national salvation and in the fight for national protection and serving international service.
The district is home to 1,550 Vietnamese heroic mothers, over 6,000 fallen soldiers, 1,444 wounded and 344 sick soldiers. 270 locals are now exposed to Agent Orange/Dioxin and 37 people are heroes of the armed forces.
Despite socio-economic difficulties, the district has ensured medium living standards of almost all families of wounded, fallen soldiers and revolution contributors. Besides, 125 living Vietnamese heroic mothers in the district have been nurtured well while 100 per cent of national contributors have heath insurance cards.
At the meeting, the delegation was informed of activities of some military units, outcomes of the implementation of policies for troops’ families and key activities to mark 70 years of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day. They also received gifts from the Ministry of National Defense.
