MND inspects reorganization of local military units in Nghe An
PANO - A delegation of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Ngoc inspected the implementation of military and defense tasks and the reorganization of local military units in Nghe An province under the new two-level administrative system on June 11.
In the first six months of this year, the Military Command and Border Guard Command of Nghe An province have synchronously implemented and completed all assigned missions.

Regarding the reorganization of local military units, the provincial Military Command has pro-actively issued directives, conducted surveys, reviewed procedures, and developed implementation plans. The province plans to establish five regional defensive area military commands while coordinating closely with relevant units for implementation.

After the inspection, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Ngoc praised the great efforts of the province’s armed forces in their task performance, requiring the units to continue to thoroughly research and comprehensively review the reorganization of local military units, strictly following the regulations and meeting the task requirements in the new situation.
* On the same day, a delegation led by Deputy Director of the Department of Operations under the General Staff Maj. Gen. Le Van Dang checked the performance of military and defense tasks and the reorganization of local military units in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces.
Particularly, the Military and Border Guard Commands of the two provinces have made good preparations for the merger of the provincial Military Command, the establishment of the Border Guard Board under the provincial Military Command, the dissolution of the commune-level Military Command, and the foundation of defensive area military commands, among others.
