MND hosts banquet celebrating VPA’s founding anniversary
PANO - The Ministry of National Defense (MND) on the evening of December 11 held a dinner in Hanoi for the foreign military attaché corps to Vietnam and foreign ambassadors in Vietnam on the occasion of the 73rd founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the 28th Whole People’s Defense Festive Day (December 22).
Senior Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy-Chief-of-the-General Staff of the VPA, hosted the banquet with the participation of leaderships of army corps, general departments, and agencies under the MND and cadres and officers in charge of external relations.

On behalf of the MND, Gen. Minh expressed his pleasure at the invited guests’ attendance and reviewed outstanding achievements of the VPA over the past 73 years of construction and development.
Gen. Minh also took this chance to thank international friends, especially foreign ambassadors and military attachés for their practical contributions to enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and their countries in different fields, including defense cooperation.
He hoped the ties between the VPA and foreign militaries would further develop for the benefit of each country and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world as a whole.
On behalf of the invited guest, Colonel Ton That Tuan, Defense Attaché of the US and Head of the foreign military attaché corps to Vietnam, congratulated the VPA on its founding anniversary and on its important accomplishments this year.
He believed that in 2018, the VPA and foreign militaries would organize more exchanges and promote their cooperation in order to develop their sustainable and effective relationship.
