Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, Chief of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Command; and Nguyen Ho Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Party Committee, attended the event.

Reportedly, the Central Military Commission and the MND provided 100,000 gift packages and 4,000 tons of rice to HCM City in support of the city in the fight against COVID-19.

Each gift included 10 kilograms of rice, a box of dry rations, 10 packs of instant noodles, canned fish and meat, eggs, sausages, cooking oil, milk, biscuits, and others.

The gifts are seen as great encouragement for HCM City’s government and the people to overcome difficulties and defeat the pandemic.

After receiving the MND’s donations, the HCM City Military Command will hand over the gifts to the military commands of 21 districts in the city, as well as Thu Duc city. These units will then deliver them to each household as soon as possible.

Addressing the event, Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien required HCM City’s armed forces to heighten their responsibility and exert utmost efforts to fulfill all assigned missions. Meanwhile, on-duty troops were asked to strictly observe military discipline and the State’s laws, ensure absolute safety, as well as promote information dissemination among the people about the pandemic prevention and control, contributing to containing the pandemic and beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.

Also, he underlined that the military joins hands with the whole nation to fight and win the COVID-19 pandemic.

PANO would like to introduce some photos of the event.
