After being briefed on the notable achievements of Military Region 1 (MR1) in the first six months of this year, the delegation, led by Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, conducted inspections at the MR1 Command and the Military Commands of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces.

The inspection focused on the implementation of organizational structure and force development; the review, revision, and development of operational documents; the creation of plans for combat readiness to protect agencies and units; training activities; the management and use of defense land; coordination in state management of the construction and operation of defensive areas; and efforts to promote and educate on the implementation of the two-level administrative system, among other priorities.

In his remarks, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang commended MR1’s preparations and efforts in reorganizing local military units under the new two-level administrative system.

He also directed MR1 to maintain strict combat readiness; effectively manage the recovery, transfer, receipt, and management of operational documents; continue establishing new defensive area military commands and commune-level Military Commands; and ensure adequate accommodations for troops.

Additionally, MR1 should prioritize the transfer of tasks and forces from the Border Guard Command to the Military Commands of Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces; properly manage the handover of defense land, military infrastructure, weapons, equipment, barracks, assets, and facilities of district-level military commands during reorganization and transfer processes, among other tasks.
