Vietnam Coast Guard leader inspects UAV training
PANO – On June 9, in Hanoi, a delegation from the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, led by Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff Major General Le Dinh Cuong, inspected the 2025 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) training program at Hoa Lac Airport.
The Vietnam Coast Guard Command has developed a UAV training plan for 2025 as part of the "Training Program for Tactical Lightweight UAV Systems" issued by the General Staff. The Department of Air Defense - Air Force under the Vietnam Coast Guard Command’s Staff was tasked with implementing this program.

Major General Le Dinh Cuong, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, observed the UAV flight crew preparing for a mission. After reviewing reports and inspecting the crew, the delegation noted that trainees had mastered essential flight operations, including in-air control, takeoffs and landings, reconnaissance of simulated targets, and deploying and recovering UAV systems.
Major General Le Dinh Cuong commended the Department of Air Defense - Air Force for their well-structured and scientific approach to the 2025 UAV training plan. He also praised the instructors and trainees for their effective training outcomes.

He urged all participants to overcome challenges related to weather, accommodations, and living conditions, maintain health, and adhere to the training schedule and discipline. He emphasized that UAV flight crew-members must master operational principles, technical and tactical features, and maintain continuous practice to build confidence and mental readiness for missions. Trainees are expected to proficiently operate equipment, strictly follow maintenance procedures, ensure absolute safety during training, and successfully execute assigned missions.
