PANO – Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, chaired the military Youth Creativity Awards Council’s conference in Hanoi on April 24 to review outstanding projects to be awarded at the 19th Military Youth Creativity Awards announcing ceremony.
According to the council, the 2018 Military Youth Creativity Awards attracted the participation of 978 cadres, youth union members, and youths from 38 military units in the whole military. Entries to the contest focused on combat readiness training, education and training, scientific research, healthcare for troops, the preservation and maintenance of weapons and military equipment, and production.
At the conference, the Military Youth Creativity Awards Council highly valued the significance and feasibility of participating projects, affirming that many projects put forward new technical measures and initiatives to upgrade weapons and military equipment or to raise the quality of Party and political work and healthcare for troops and people. Some devised methods of strengthening the implementation of the “Studying and Following President Ho Chi Minh’s Thoughts, Morals, and Lifestyle” movement and of preventing social evils and “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” phenomena.
Projects from the General Departments of Defense Industry and Technology, Military Science and Technology Institute, the Navy, the Air Defense - Air Force Service, Military Medical Academy, Military Central Hospital 108, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group, the Signal Corps, and Political University had been applied successfully and effectively to reality.
Addressing the event, Lieutenant General Le Hien Van praised the efforts of members of the council and the Military Youth Board in hosting the award as well as responsibility of relevant units in assessing participating projects objectively and effectively.
General Van also asked relevant agencies and units to popularize the significance of the contest to military units in order to attract more participants in the next edition while making thorough preparations for the awarding ceremony.
