* On December 17, the Military Command of Binh Dinh province and relevant forces in Hoai Nhon district salvaged five fishing boats, and a number of fishing cages swept away by floods from December 12-16. They were stranded under Thien Chanh bridge in Tam Quan Bac commune of the district. At the end of the day, the troops completed the salvage of three fishing boats. The work is still underway.

* Artillery Brigade 572 of Military Region 5 have sent 150 troops to An Tin (Hoai An district), My Chanh (Phu My district), and Cat Thanh (Phu Cat district) communes to help locals with flood consequence relief.

In An Tin commune, the brigade’s troops used canoes to evacuate 10 households isolated by the flood in Vinh Duc village and removed around 30 cubic meters of earth falling down from a landslide so as to resume traffic. At An Tin Kindergarten, An Tin Primary School, and An Tin Secondary School, the troops helped locals clean the grounds.

In Cat Thanh commune, 50 troops transported 10,000 liters of oil from other boats safely ashore and moved nine boats of fishermen to a safe place.

In My Chanh commune, the brigade rescued 30 people, mainly women and children, from endangered areas and delivered 500 boxes of instant noodle to people isolated by the flood. At present, cadres and soldiers of Brigade 572 are on duty around the clock, ready to support people when needed.

* To support flood-hit people to overcome difficulties on time, on December 17, the provincial Border Guard Command of Quang Ngai sent troops and vehicles to join hands with local authorities to transport instant noodle and fresh water to flood-isolated areas.

Accordingly, nearly 400 boxes of instant noodle have reached locals in Duc Thang, Duc Phong, and Duc Hiep communes of Mo Duc district and the command has also  deployed forces and vehicles to other flooded areas to support locals.
