Last month, the whole military concentrated on implementing training and combat readiness tasks, strictly observed duty regulations, followed closely situations in the air, on land, and at sea to stay away from being put in a disadvantage.
Units successfully organized tactical-level exercises for combat contingents with high quality and safety while observing military discipline and maintaining regularity-building.
The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense gave recommendations to the Party and State to deal with emerging situations, contributing to maintaining political stability, social order and security, facilitating national socio-economic and cultural development.

With suggestions from relevant agencies, the Ministry of National Defense completed the compilation of legal documents on military and defense, such as decrees on implementation of some articles in the Laws on National Defense, Coast Guard, Reserve Force, the National Border Protection Strategy and others.
Additionally, military units well performed disaster prevention and control and search and rescue missions. They joined hands with locals in Northern and Central provinces to overcome consequences of Storm Bebinca, the fourth storm hitting Vietnam this year. Accordingly, nearly 6,900 troops and over 240 vehicles were mobilized to assist the storm victims. Moreover, the Ministry of National Defense and military units spent billions of VND in supporting the victims.
It is worth noting that units under Military Region 5 sent troops and vehicles and provided free medicines for Lao people, joining locals in surmounting the dam collapse in Attapeu province, contributing to tightening the special friendship and solidarity between the two neighboring countries of Vietnam and Laos.
In his concluding speech, General Lich requested military units to continue concentrating on performing well their training and combat readiness missions, review the five-year implementation of the Central Military Commission’s Resolution No.765 on renovating training in the 2013-2020 period and subsequent years.
Units were also asked to carry out effectively mass mobilization work, follow closely situations in localities, give timely recommendations to local Party organizations, authorities, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to deal with emerging issues, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety.
This month, military units are to conduct exercises and sports festivals as planned with high quality and safety, boost information about military and defense activities on mass media, check the management and use of defense land, and implement well defense external relations, to help raise the status of the military and the country in the world.
