General Luong Cuong, Director of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the VPA’s General Staff, attended the event.
Reportedly, in the previous academic year, the school overcame a number of current difficulties while seriously grasping and observing all resolutions and directions of the Party, Central Military Commission (CMC), and Ministry of National Defense (MND).
The school applied many measures to improve training and scientific research quality to deserve to be one of the leading schools in the military.
For their achievements, in 2021, the school was presented with an emulation flag by the Prime Minister and was recognized as one of the top military schools in response to the “Determined to Win" emulation drive.
In his speech, General Cuong highly valued the school’s results in the previous academic year. He underlined the importance of education and training work in the military to build the VPA into a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern military.
General Cuong requested the school to further implement resolutions, conclusions and directions of the Party, CMC, and MND on education and training and scientific research. The school should also pay due attention to promoting innovation in education; closely following the reality of the Party and political work as well as the development of the society; implementing digital transformation; and raising quality of human resources, especially among lecturers and education management staffers, contributing to raising training quality for cadets so as to meet requirements in the current context.

At the same time, General Cuong asked the school to focus on building strong and healthy party cells in combination with building a comprehensively-strong, exemplary, and typical unit; heightening troops’ political stance; protecting the ideological foundation of the Party while refuting wrongful and hostile views; and fostering relations with local authorities and people and other units.
On this occasion, the GDP chief believed that with its great efforts and tradition, the school will successfully complete all given missions in the academic year 2022-2023 and the following years.
